Living in southwest Colorado, Dan guides rock, ice, and skiing year round. Dan earned a BA in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech and enjoys the real world application of mechanical principles he finds in the mountains. His love of ropes, technical systems, and nature’s complexities originate from his extensive climbing and caving background. Showing others the finer points of climbing and watching them break through boundaries is what draws Dan to guiding.
Dan spent past winters ski patrolling at Telluride Ski Resort. Dan is an AMGA Certified Rock Guide and has had training in Outdoor Emergency Care, Wilderness First Responder, and Avalanche Level II. Dan is also actively pursuing his Alpine Guide and Ski Mountaineering Guide certifications with the AMGA.
