SNOW IS FLYING and ICE IS FORMING!
Lots of fresh snow has fallen in the San Juan Mountains this past week, and colder temperatures have allowed the ice to get fat!
At SJMG Winter is in full swing, friends and families are having a blast in the Ouray Ice Park. People of all ages are getting on the ice; this week we had a six year old and a 65+ year old try ice climbing for their first time. They both had huge grins after a super fun day, and they want to climb more!
Groups of friends and families are taking our Introduction to Ice courses, they are learning ice climbing skills and techniques, while getting in lots of great ice climbing.
Our back-country ski trips and Avalanche Courses are also in action in the San Juans. We have a course for every level of skier, snowboarder and back-country traveler, from novice to advanced.
